Ok, I need to preface this again by apologizing that another film featuring Kevin Spacey is on this list, but hell, looking past him this film is hitting on all cylinders. Film noire at its finest with star making performances from Russell Crow, Guy Pearce, Kim Basinger, Danny DeVito and James Cromwell. Directed with perfection by the late, great Curtis Hanson. This film is gripping and engaging as it gives grimy and gritty look at LA in the 1050’s. A time when the city, and the world at large, was trying to give life a false of tranquility. This film pulls the curtain back on the dirtiness and corruption that really existed.
